The movie releases - TOP 4 movies to watch this October 2019

Joker – 6th of October

If you think that the best “Joker” ever was Heath Ledger, you might be wrong. I thought the same until I have watched the trailer to the new Joker. Joaquin Phoenix is promising us one of the best movies in years.

The trailer has a very good atmosphere and you can immediately see that Joaquin put all his heart into the role. He lost a lot of kilos to be more authentic and showcase his acting even more.

The movie is directed by Todd Phillips. Stars: Robert De Niro, Joaquin Phoenix, Brian Tyree Henry, Zazie Beetz

An original standalone origin story of the iconic villain not seen before on the big screen, it’s a gritty character study of Arthur Fleck, a man disregarded by society, and a broader cautionary tale. – Written by Warner Bros. (plot from IMDB)

Interesting fact: Joaquin Phoenix is the 7th actor playing Joker on the big screen. He follows Cesar Romero (Batman: The Movie (1966)), Jack Nicholson (Batman (1989)), Mark Hamill (Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993)), Heath Ledger (The Dark Knight (2008)), Jared Leto (Suicide Squad (2016)), and Zach Galifianakis (The Lego Batman Movie (2017)

Gemini Man – 11th of October

If you are a big fan of Will Smith – not the Genie from Aladdin but the action movie star – you should mark the 11th of October in your calendar in bold. That is the day when his new movie Gemini Man will hit the cinemas.

The trailer is looking good, has an interesting atmosphere and the action scenes are reminding me of the Bad Boys.

The movie is directed by Ang Lee and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. Stars: Will Smith, Clive Owen, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Benedict Wong.

The official storyline from IMDB: An over-the-hill hitman faces off against a younger clone of himself.

Interesting fact: All the Will Smith movies earned worldwide $8,660.2 million in total.

The Addams Family – 11th of October

The Addams Family is here. If you are looking to see a normal family in this cartoon you are totally wrong. The members of the Addams family are so weird that you would need to search hard to find another family like this.

On the other hand, if you like dark humor and quotes like “Don’t forget to kick your father goodnight” this one is for you.

Directed by Greg Tiernan, Conrad Vernon. Stars:  Finn Wolfhard, Charlize Theron, Chloë Grace Moretz, Pom Klementieff

An animated version of Charles Addams’ series of cartoons about a peculiar, ghoulish family. – The official plot from IMDB

Interesting fact: the first cinematic movie The Addams Family from 1991 got two Oscar nominations – Art Direction and Costume Design.

The Lighthouse – 18th of October

This movie grabbed my attention as it was highly rated on almost every movie reviewing website. And once you will see the trailer, you will understand why.

The first thing that will bring up your attention is that the movie is black and white. The second one is the actors. Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe are simply nailing it. Both actors are performing incredibly well and the chemistry between them is strong.

I would not be surprised if one of them would get an Oscar for his role.

The movie is directed by Robert Eggers. Stars: Robert Pattinson, Willem Dafoe

The story of two lighthouse keepers on a remote and mysterious New England island in the 1890s. – The official plot from IMDB

Interesting fact: the movie was shot in a 1.19:1 aspect ratio (which is almost square) and filmed on 35mm black and white film.
